If people don't keep up with news of what is going on with SoS server, MERC, ND, and AoI are leaving for Blackgate. Votf has either quit the game or moved to a server without saying where. A little history for those that don't know, AoI (Axis of Insurrection) was born from Dragonbrand (our original home server), and SAO did our research for a community built by guilds. For the few that wanted to play competitive WvW, SoS was the healthy environment to play. So we moved to SoS.
Short answer
It will not change a thing.
Long answer
We will still play all aspects of GW2. The only players effected by this change would be the ones playing WvW. We can talk about Server loyalty and all that jazz, but when it comes down to one thing, is it fun.
Fun is to the individual. We leave it up to the individual to decide what best course of action (40 gold to transfer) is for them.
I want to keep in mind that we all can still play fractals, dungeons, and PvE togather, Guesting assures that as a bunch of players, we will not break up.
Respect people's wishes.
This actually means we are expanding our player base past SoS. I will be heading the WvW and all things guild related at Blackgate. Hopefully we can get more players to play with, and in time I will choose our SoS WvW representative before I go to Blackgate.
What if SoS and BG servers meet in WvW?
Happy WvW'ding! And may the PPT be always in your favor. (could not think of a better fun quote. Someone else figure out a better line.)
Builds and strategies, is not like that will be some sort of well kept secret. So thinking that one can steal from another will not be a big deal because once invented you cannot stop another from figuring it out themselves. If there are map assignments though, and you're aware of it, that is something the two servers should not know unless the guild themselves decide to express their OWN map assignment. Do NOT be that person that openly speaks of it. It might be fun to fight each other in the battlefield like respectable players that we all are.
Spying will not be tolerated, and even if someone tried it would not be 'realtime' or as fast as you can make it out to be. Getting caught trying to actively sabotage servers will be taken seriously.
